The sun hung heavy in the sky with grey clouds slowly passing by casting the area in an uneven light. Terra and five other Templars waited in a dingy room in an abandoned building overlooking the street where the First Son delivery was soon to pass by. There was decent cover due to all the debris strewn across the streets, turned over cars and giant chunks of cement littering the street. It was a prime location for a raid.

There were no civilians around, this part of the city was generally barren but the silence was still unsettling. The air was tense and the cluster of her peers was noticeably restless, even from the back of the room where Terra leaned against the wall.

This was a bad idea. She hadn’t been out on a raid in ages and her Barretta felt useless compared to the spiked baseball bats and rifles the others carried. She definitely didn't have as much experience and the fact that sometimes random object would start floating around her wasn't comforting either. She sighed and closed her eyes, thinking of the clinic and its empty cabinets.

Calmate. They need the supplies.

“Hey Doc, is Joey gonna keep his leg? We have a bet going and Liz thinks we should start looking for peg legs. You know, not every day someone steps on a bear trap.” Terra’s eyes snapped up to the fellow Templar, Theo, who watched her expectantly. He was  She eyed the M-16 he rested on his shoulder. She hadn’t noticed him walk over.

“Well? Is it on or off?” Liz barked from across the room and Terra had to keep herself from flinching.

“Shut up Liz!” Theo called back, still watching Terra intently.

“Will you all stop yelling? The Boss leaves for five seconds and you guys start fucking around.” Marcelo chided, the tall redhead shooting a look at Liz, a buff blonde, which she returned. Her sister Jane stood quietly to the side by the window, watching the street intently. Eric, an older man with dark hair watched the conversation quietly.

“ I wasn’t yelling.” Liz replied though a bit more quietly. Terra stood up a bit straighter.

“So?” Theo prompted Terra and she looked back to him. He'd been in the clinic barely a month ago with a giant cut on his arm and she could see the scar it had left.

“Yeah...Yeah, I think so. He’s been doing better.” She replied, fidgeting nervously with the strap of her bag. A cloud passed in front of the sun and the room grew darker.

"Here that Liz?" She flipped him off from where she stood and he chuckled.

"Thanks Doc. Owe you one." Theo gave Terra a lazy salute before sauntering back over to the rest of the group. All armed and all former patients of hers, not that that made it any easier to talk to them. She’d seen them crack open the skulls of people who had helped conduits; the idea of the fate she would face if she was discovered didn’t exactly put her in the mood for small talk. She brushed a few stray hairs out of her face and leaned against the wall once more.

All they could do was wait.

"You seem tense yet again, Theresa."

The sultry purr of a man who understood his own power was beside the ear of the dark haired woman. He'd finally made his appearance, albeit quietly, adjusting the collar of his vest as he passed by the secret conduit-templar.

"Everyone.... I hope you're not giving our valuable healer a difficult time?" His crimson-lined, dark eyes narrowed at his infallible line-up with a demure perspective, waiting with a raised chin for their unwavering loyalty to be barked back at him just so.

No one called her Theresa anymore; she half suspected that some of the Templars actually thought her name was Doc most days. Not that it bothered her. Who didn't like nicknames? It meant people liked you enough to call you something special. At least that's what she told herself. She was only called Theresa at church or when she was in trouble, not that this situation was particularly different. To the group infront of her everything Dmitri said was gospel.

Terra only huffed in response and trailed after him.
The atmosphere in the room changed instantly, all the Templars snapping to attention at his question.

"No, sir." came the sharp reply from the group, all watching their leader with an adoring gleam in their eyes. They all stood around him weapons at the ready looking like excitable 2nd graders.  

"We're always nice Boss; right Doc?" Theo replied throwing an arm haphazardly over her shoulder and grinning. The others were watching her expectantly once more and Terra began to miss the clinic.

"They've been peachy." She replied, smiling slightly, quietly wishing she could shake off Theo without looking like an asshole. The attention went back to Dmitri as they waited for instruction.

The original plan was to split into teams of two and surround the First sons as they passed the street and having Jane or Marcelo shoot them down before having the others move in with melee weapons; their typical protocol for a raid. But with people who could move things with their minds and bad news being delivered like Chinese take out menus 'typical' was more of a suggestion than anything nowadays and the Templars had learned to adapt.

"Any adjustments sir?" Eric asked, serious as ever. He was one of the older members and one of the best snipers they had.

"As a matter of fact, there is."

Dmitri slowly closed and reopened his crimson-laced eyes, looking very much like a car deep in thought. His eyes glazed over Theo as he put his hand on Terra. Did she just imagine it, or was it a tick of annoyance he displayed in his lips? The tall, intimidating man lifted his hands in front of him, his knuckles seeming to crack as he moved them; bony but far from fragile. He smooths his wild, unmanageable dark hair back and inhales, a smile on his face.

"A new recipe. Theo, I have just the job for you."

Dmitri strode, long legged as a spider, to where something had been previously prepared. He pulled from his midst a molotov cocktail, yet to be lit. He turns his face, smiling.

"You've been such a good boy lately, I want you to do the honors of throwing this into the van as the snipers take out the wheels on all sides."

"I wont let you down Boss!" Theo beamed trailing after Dmitri to inspect his new 'toy'. He was the biggest of the bunch after Dmitri and despite his extensive track record of getting stabbed/burned he loved to be the first to rush into firefights. Terra saw more of him then she'd like to. She was also thankful he wasn't touching her anymore but if her relief was evident or not she wasn't sure.
The rest of the group promptly began checking there weapons and moving into position just as they'd done many times before albeit in a more intent manner now that their leader had arrived.

"Who's taking the Doc?" Jane asked, not looking up as she scanned the road through her scope. Typically Jane and Eric would stay in opposite buildings and have Liz and Theo run in with Marcelo and Dmitri shortly after; working in teams had proved the most effective. But Theresa was the odd man out and leaving one of their only surgeons alone in a firefight wasn't ideal.

"I can! I mean uh you know. I got it."

Puta.

"Theo you can barely keep yourself alive much less the Doctor." Liz replied causing Theo to huff indignantly.

"I can take her,Boss." Marcelo chimed in snapping shut his shotgun. Marcelo was one of the few people here who she's worked with before.

"Boss they're five minutes out." Jane spoke up looking away from the scope. The rest of the group turned and stared at Dmitri expectantly, waiting for orders.

"The doctor stays with me."

Theresa would feel a muscular arm wrap around her, crimson-laced eyes staring out at the others impatiently. "It makes sense for the medic to stay closest to the leader, does it not?" He almost seemed to be asking for someone to challenge him, dark eyes gleaming as he gave a crooked smile to Theresa. He dropped his hand to her hand, and gave it suggestive squeeze before stepping along, his hands running through his dark whispy hair.

"Let's not waste anymore time. Everyone, get into your positions."
